Edie Evans
Edie Evans is an Artist whose practice investigates how ceramics can operate as a regenerative, circular and place-responsive discipline. Through material research, she explores alternatives to extractive ceramic production by working with locally sourced clays, reclaimed ceramic waste, vernacular materials and historic making traditions that reconnect clay to its ecological and geographical origins.
The works are all made from raw, unfired London clay, combined with reclaimed aggregates and organic matter. They’re burnished and sealed with local beeswax. The work is part of my wider research into local materials, construction and more sustainable ways of working with clay.
